How to Plan a Last-Minute Mid-Week Wedding

Every year, we create a few last-minute, intimate weddings in our Tapestry room. You can find more information in this blog post if this is what you are looking for!

We know that planning a wedding, no matter how small can still be stressful, but with proper organisation and a dash of creativity, you can create a memorable and beautiful celebration in a short amount of time.

Selecting your wedding venue might seem impossible, especially when venues book out years in advance, which is why Leigh Court is special in that regard. Although our Great Hall and Library can often be booked out at the weekend, our beautiful Tapestry Room is available for hosting your mid-week wedding with your chosen guests (and is licensed for ceremonies too).

Overlooking the beautiful gardens of the house, the Tapestry Room is accessed through the Salon. Noted as one of the most traditional and beautiful rooms of the house, we can still host up to 56 people in the Tapestry room for both the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. The Salon is also available for hosting the drinks reception and canapés and opens out onto our furnished patio and lawns.

So now you have a good idea of the space that we can offer, here are 3 tips from our experienced wedding coordination team that will help you to create your dream wedding in a short period of time.

1. Embrace Simplicity:

One of the most important aspects of planning a last-minute wedding is to embrace simplicity. Especially considering the grandeur of the Tapestry room. Decorations can be kept to a minimum, and floral arrangements need not be a huge affair.

You can also scale down your guest list to include only close family and friends, allowing for a more intimate and meaningful gathering.

2. Seek Help and let Creativity Shine

Enlist the support of family and friends who are willing to lend a hand. From DIY decorations and hand-made wedding favours, to helping with invitations, having a team of people working together can make all the difference in pulling off a last-minute wedding. Our team of wedding coordinators can also help you with ideas and pre-loved decorations.

Planning a last-minute wedding requires a positive attitude, an open mind, and a willingness to embrace spontaneity. With careful organisation and the support of loved ones, you can turn a time-sensitive situation into a beautiful celebration of love.

3. Enjoy the Journey

Remember, even though time may be limited, the most important thing is the love you and your partner share. Enjoy the journey of planning a last-minute wedding and cherish the moments leading up to your special day.

So, with these tips, take a deep breath, let the excitement build, and get ready to say “I do” to a charming last-minute wedding in our Tapestry Room that will be remembered for a lifetime.

Happy planning!
